A government AI portal will appear in Uzbekistan
Ministries and agencies will start participating twice a year in competitions for the best AI projects.

Uzbekistan plans to launch at least 100 new AI-related initiatives in various fields by the end of 2026, according to a government decree.
According to the information, future initiatives are planned to be launched in such areas as public administration, social sphere, and economy. The country’s leader also instructed to launch 15 AI laboratories at universities across the country. By the end of 2025, it is planned to launch the government AI portal ai.gov.uz.
On this platform, authorities will post information about AI projects and programs, new startups, and free online training courses. In addition, the president set a goal to attract more than $1 billion in foreign investment by 2030 to create modern artificial intelligence infrastructure in the country.
It is noted that the implementation of AI will become one of the categories in assessing the digital transformation of government bodies and state-owned enterprises. To this end, starting in March 2026, ministries and agencies will start participating in the best AI projects competition twice a year.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan and OpenAI held a meeting, during which they discussed cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence development and digitalization. The parties considered the implementation of technologies in education.
