Who will Uzbekistan play against in the FIFA World Cup — dates of matches
The team's head coach noted that anything can happen, including getting out of the group.

On December 5th, the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage took place in Washington.
The Uzbekistan national team, led by Fabio Cannavaro, was placed in the “K” group alongside Portugal and Colombia. The third team could be DR Congo, Jamaica, or New Caledonia — the winner of the clash.
The World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico and will begin on June 11, with the final matches taking place on July 19.
On June 17, the Uzbekistan national team will play its first World Cup match against Colombia, and on June 23 — against Portugal against the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo. The final match of the group stage against the winner of the qualifying match will take place on June 27. It’s worth noting that only two countries out of four can advance further to the group stage.
The head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Fabio Canavaro, expressed his optimistic opinion after the draw.
We have opportunities, of course, especially considering that we are participating in the World Cup and playing with teams like Portugal and Colombia. This is a very important moment for our football players. We are participating in the World Cup, and anything can happen. The main thing is that we are here, and we are happy about this — Fabio Canavaro.
