Uzbekistan won gold at World Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling for the first time in 24 years
Aitjan Khalmakhanov won the honorary award.

The representative of the Uzbekistan national team in Greco-Roman wrestling, Aitzhan Khalmakhanov, brought the country a gold medal for the first time in 24 years, the NOC press service reports.
The compatriot competed in the -63 kg weight category. In the final match, he defeated Chung Han-je (Korea). This was the first gold medal for Uzbek Greco-Roman wrestlers at a world championship in 24 years. Thus, the Uzbekistan national team won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

- silver: -60 kg: Alisher Ganiev (Greco-Roman wrestling);
