The Uzbekistan national football team will play a friendly match against Kuwait as part of the FIFA international window, the UFA press service reports.
According to the information, the friendly match will take place on October 9th at the new Olympic Stadium in Tashkent. The Kuwaiti athletes will arrive in the capital on October 7th and will conduct two days of training, after which they will face the Uzbekistan national team on the field.
It should be noted that FIFA plans to distribute $355 million among teams that have released their players for the 2026 World Cup, in connection with which Uzbek football clubs will also be able to receive financial bonuses from the federation. At the same time, this time the right to receive payments will be available not only for the participation of football players in the final stage of the tournament, but also in qualifying matches.
Earlier, it was reported that the former head coach of the German national football team, Joachim Löw, would not become the head coach of the Uzbekistan national team. The athlete held online negotiations with UFA representatives with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin, where he politely declined.
