Uzbek athlete Yegor Bolotov became the world champion in para swimming
The Paralympian surpassed all his opponents and brought the national team its second medal.

Uzbek para-athlete Egor Bolotov became the world champion in para-swimming at 100 meters in Singapore, the NOC press service reports.
The athlete, competing in the S13 category, completed the 100m on his back in 58.97 seconds. He surpassed all his opponents and brought the national team’s second medal.
World Championships, men, 100 m on back (S13 class):
- gold: Yegor Bolotov (Uzbekistan) — 58.97;
- silver: Thomas van Waanroy (Netherlands) — 59.35;
- bronze: Alexey Virchenko (Ukraine) — 59.45.
The swimmer also won a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle. Mubinabonu Khalilova (S13) finished seventh in the women’s 100m backstroke final. Sardor Bakhtiyarov’s (S7) decisive start is yet to come.
Recall that the best athletes and Paralympians of the year were determined in Uzbekistan. The best sports schools also received awards.
