Timur Kapadze has completely left the Uzbekistan national team

The Uzbekistan national team’s assistant coach, Timur Kapadze, requested to be dismissed from his position, expressing his desire to continue his career at a new level. This was reported by the UFA press service.
According to the information, the specialist has received another offer and intends to continue his work as head coach. The UFA management respectfully accepted his decision, the statement said.
Timur Kapadze was appointed acting head coach of the Uzbekistan national team in January 2025. Under his leadership, the team defeated Kyrgyzstan (1:0) in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, drew with Iran (2:2) and the UAE (0:0), securing their first-ever World Cup qualification. Following Fabio Cannavaro’s arrival at the national team, Kapadze was appointed assistant to the Italian manager.
