The Uzbekistan national judo team finished at the top of the overall team standings in the World Championship

Earlier the athletes began the competition with three gold medals.

Uzbek athletes finished first overall at the World Junior Judo Championships, according to the NOC press service.

The competition continues in Bulgaria. On 30 August, the individual matches concluded, with the national team also taking first place. In particular, in the over 70 kg weight category among girls, Umida Nigmatova managed to win the gold medal by defeating all her opponents.

Earlier, the national team secured three gold medals on the first day of the competition. Dilafruz Boltaboyeva became the second Uzbek judoka, after Diyora Keldiyorova, to reach the top of the world championship podium in this age category.

Thus, throughout the entire competition period, the national team managed to win 5 gold and 2 bronze medals at the championship and continues to hold first place in the overall team standings. According to the competition programme, the winners and prize-winners in the mixed team event will be announced on 31st August.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbek athletes secured first place in the overall team standings in judo. The national team managed to surpass the hosts of the tournament and won 29 medals.
