The national team’s new coach, Fabio Cannavaro, shared his plans for working with the team
The Italian specialist spoke about the preparation, tactics development, and shared his experience in interaction with local specialists.

The national team’s new coach, Fabio Cannavaro, shared his plans and ideas for preparing the athletes for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to the UFA press service.
The specialist noted that despite their commitment to attacking football, the team will not attack all 90 minutes of the game and is currently using all the players called up for the training camp. Fabio Cannavaro emphasized that although he didn’t select players himself, the current squad is the best players in their form.
Every match is difficult for me, both during my football career and now. You can never enter the field unprepared. Therefore, I always emphasize that players should be as ready as possible. Even in friendly matches, — the coach noted.
The Italian manager said he is discussing the game with the coaching staff and the players. The coach also noted that Timur Kapadze is also participating in the discussion, as their game philosophies are similar. Fabio Cannavaro emphasized the extensive experience and contributions of the former national team coach and stated that he has no problems interacting with local specialists, and shared plans to bring in other local experts.
I looked through all the matches and noted that Turgunboev and Eshmurodov should be called up to the squad. The national team is every football player’s dream. Unfortunately, two of our players were injured.
Tactical styles are just numbers. Playing with three central defenders seems defensive, but in reality, it allows you to start attacks faster. For me, it’s important how much the 11 players on the field understand each other. During my career, I’ve worked with great coaches and learned a lot from them, — said the Italian specialist.
Earlier, it was reported that the UFA commented on information about the salary of the new Uzbekistan national team coach. According to the organization’s first vice president, Fabio Cannavaro approached it based on available resources.
