Muhiddin Madaminov won the world championship title among juniors

The Uzbekistan national team managed to win three medals at the World Cup held in Peru.

Uzbekistan’s chess players won 3 medals at the World Rapid Chess and Blitz Championships among juniors, the press service of the country’s Chess Federation reports.

According to the information, the competition took place in Peru. 89 chess players from 19 countries participated in the event. In the Open rapid category, Muhammadzohid Suyarov was able to win a gold medal, and Muhiddin Madaminov – a silver. In this category, Muhiddin Madaminov won in the blitz, Muhammadzohid Suyarov won the bronze medal, and Humoyun Bekmurodov took fourth place.

In addition, in the women’s competition, Afruza Hamdamova won silver in the rapid, and Umida Omonova won silver in the blitz. As a result of the championship, the national team won three medals and two honorable places:

  • Mukhiddin Madaminov — 12 points, gold medal;
  • Muhammadzohid Suyarov — 10 points, bronze medal;
  • Umida Omonova — 9.5 points, silver medal;
  • Humoyun Bekmurodov — 9 points, 4th place;
  • Madinabonu Khalilova — 8 points, 6th place.

Earlier, it was reported that an international chess tournament will be held in Tashkent. Athletes from India, Iran, and Pakistan will compete for the title of winner.
