Akbar Juraev has become a six-time champion of the Islamic Solidarity Games
The athlete won a gold medal, outperforming all his rivals.
The Uzbek athlete became the absolute champion of the VI Islamic Solidarity Games, winning a gold medal in the weightlifting competition, the NOC press service reports.
Akbar Juraev managed to win the highest award in the -110 kg weight category in the snatch exercise, recording a result of 193 kg. The Uzbek athlete was able to surpass all his opponents in the snatch exercise, showing a result of 227 kg in the clean and jerk and 420 kg in the total of the two events, which became the highest indicator of the competition.
As a result, the athlete was able to win a gold medal, as well as the title of absolute champion of the VI Islamic Solidarity Games being held in Saudi Arabia. It is noted that Akbar Juraev is a six-time champion of the Islamic Solidarity Games.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbek athletes finished second in the team standings at the Asian Youth Games. The national team representatives won 11 medals.
