Uzbekistan received almost $14 billion in remittances

The growth over the year was almost 25%.

Since the beginning of 2025, the volume of remittances to Uzbekistan has amounted to $13.9 billion, according to the Central Bank.

According to the information, the indicator increased by 24% or $2.7 billion compared to the same period in 2024, and by 66% or $5.5 billion compared to 2023. It is noted that $1.9 billion was transferred from the country during the same period, which is $127 million less than in the same period of 2024.

It’s worth noting that in September, remittances to Uzbekistan exceeded $12 billion since the beginning of the year. In the first half of the year, transfers increased by 27% and amounted to $8.2 billion, their volume increased monthly — from 1.06 billion in January to 1.78 billion in June.

The main source of transfers remains Russia – $6.4 billion or 78% of the total volume. Another $1.8 billion came from Kazakhstan, the USA, South Korea, Turkey, Great Britain, Kyrgyzstan, and Lithuania.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia wants to ban migrants from transferring more money abroad than their salary. This will help prevent shadow income, tax evasion, and capital outflow overseas.
