The NOVA24 editorial staff calculated how official exchange rates changed during the week — from September 8th to 15th, 2025. At once, several key global currencies weakened against the soum: the dollar and ruble lost significantly, while the euro and pound only retreated slightly. Even the traditionally calm yen and tenge showed a minus, albeit symbolic.

As of September 8, 2025, the courses were:

  • US dollar – 12,520.78 soums;
  • Euro – 14,634.29 soums;
  • Pound sterling – 16,880.52 soums;
  • Russian ruble – 153.70 sum;
  • Chinese yuan – 1,754.10 soums;
  • Japanese yen – 84.50 soums;
  • Kazakhstani tenge – 23.28 sum.

As of September 15, the quotes changed as follows:

  • US dollar – 12,426.83 soums (-93.95 per week);
  • Euro – 14,566.73 soums (-67.56);
  • Pound sterling – 16,834.63 sum (-45.89);
  • Russian ruble – 146.96 sum (-6.74);
  • Chinese yuan – 1,744.53 soums (-9.57);
  • Japanese yen – 84.00 sum (-0.50);
  • Kazakhstan tenge – 22.98 sum (-0.30).

During the week, all major foreign currencies showed a decrease. The dollar and the ruble depreciated the most, while the smallest changes were recorded in the yen and tenge.

Earlier, it was reported that a gold deposit valued at two billion dollars would be sold at auction. Geological exploration work will begin at two additional gold and precious metal deposits.
