In Uzbekistan, the procedure for simplified debt collection will be expanded
Several other types of debts will be included in the regulations.

Uzbekistan plans to expand the practice of debt collection through a simplified procedure, the Legislative Chamber’s press service reports.
According to the information, the deputies reviewed amendments providing for broader opportunities for debt collection through a simplified procedure. Currently, this practice is used in the collection of administrative fines, tax arrears, state duties, and postal expenses under court documents.
Now, the authorities plan to add utility bills, apartment building owners’ fees, as well as postal and video conferencing expenses to the same amount. In addition, it is planned to collect debts up to 5 BRV (2.06 million soums) in a simplified manner. It is planned that this will help reduce the burden on the CPI, as well as ensure the prompt collection of debts. The amendments were considered and adopted by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. The document remains to be signed by the president until it comes into force.
It is worth noting that the simplified procedure stipulates that collection for such matters will not be carried out from the funds in the bank accounts of the debtor — an individual. This, in turn, should contribute to increasing the effectiveness of enforcement, preventing unnecessary anxiety among debtors by visiting their homes, and implementing enforcement without applying any prohibitions or restrictions against the debtor.
