Hundreds of “round-the-clock” streets could emerge in Uzbekistan.
It was proposed to introduce the position of “night economy managers” in the khokimiyats.

The Strategic Reforms Agency, together with the relevant ministries, has developed a draft resolution on the development of the night economy.
It defines the main directions of development until 2030 and measures to achieve the set goals. The document is based on the experience of the CIS countries, the European Union, and distant foreign countries, as well as business proposals in the field of shared services.
It is planned to create 320 “round-the-clock” streets and territories throughout Uzbekistan. They will house 8,000 cafes and restaurants, as well as 14,200 retail and service outlets operating 24/7. It is planned to open new social and entertainment facilities, create Wi-Fi zones and mobile clinics, and hold concerts, festivals, and other events. The implementation of these initiatives will create more than 11 thousand jobs and attract up to 190 thousand local and foreign tourists annually.
It is proposed to allow the creation of “round-the-clock” streets in regional and district centers, as well as in cities with a population of more than 50 thousand people. Zones with a length of 800 meters to 2 km should cover facilities with high tourist attractiveness.
Facilities on “round-the-clock” streets are divided into two categories. Some of them will operate 24 hours a day on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, while others will operate daily from 9:00 to 3:00.
For facilities on “round-the-clock” streets, it is proposed to define clear requirements for compliance with noise standards. Round-the-clock video surveillance within the framework of the “Safe City” system, as well as patrols of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard, will be organized in all such territories.
In the khokimiyats of all districts of Tashkent, as well as Nukus and regional centers, it is planned to introduce the positions of “night economy managers” equivalent to deputy khokims. They will be responsible for creating infrastructure on “round-the-clock” streets, attracting tourists, organizing events, and ensuring safety.
The speed of vehicles on “round-the-clock” streets will be limited to 20 km/h. Parking lots, including multi-level ones, will be created near the zones. A management company will be assigned to each 24-hour street and zone on a competitive basis.
The agency stated that this measure was proposed by entrepreneurs from the Mirabad district of the capital. Its tasks include:
- management of common property, its maintenance and repair;
- improvement of the territory, sanitary cleaning, waste removal;
- maintenance of communal infrastructure in working condition;
- assistance in solving the daily problems of entrepreneurs working on the streets and in the regions.
In addition, it is planned to organize night bus cruises around the streets “round the clock” for city guests and tourists. Special night routes connect them with airports and railway stations.
Earlier, it was reported that the creation of night buses was approved in Tashkent. The fare will be the same as for the daytime routes.
