A citizen attempting to illegally sell $1,300 worth of ammunition was detained in Tashkent, the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported.
The incident occurred in the Chilanzar district. Law enforcement officers detained a 24-year-old citizen while selling 22 5.45 mm ammunition rounds for $1,300. It was revealed that he had previously worked as an explosive driver in one of the military units in Surkhandarya region.
He said he bought the ammunition from a serviceman with whom he had previously served for 10 million soums. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 248, Part 3 (Illegal trafficking of firearms, ammunition, main parts of firearms, explosives, explosive devices or explosive devices), and an investigation is underway.
