Uzbeks are more frequently involved in car accidents in Russia than other migrants
At the same time, Tajik citizens lead in driver-caused accidents.

In Russia, the largest number of accidents over nine months has been recorded involving Uzbek citizens, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported, citing the press service of the Center for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
From January to September, Uzbek citizens were involved in 827 traffic accidents, which is 18% less than in the same period of 2024. Kazakhstan citizens closes the anti-rating in the number of accidents — 128 accidents, a 21% decrease compared to January-September 2024.
If we assess the situation through the “guilt ratio” — the proportion of accidents caused by the driver’s fault — drivers from Tajikistan are leading. They became participants in 666 accidents, which is 14% lower than the level of 2024, and in 67% of cases, they were the direct culprits.
In second place in this indicator are citizens of Uzbekistan with a guilt ratio of almost 65%. Following are drivers from Armenia and Azerbaijan, whose share of accidents is 64%. The lowest coefficient was registered among Belarusian citizens — slightly more than 50%.
As a reminder, migrants in Russia are planned to be stripped of their temporary residence permits for drunk driving. According to Russian deputies, the measure will help reduce the number of road accidents.
