On January 17, the press service of the Republican Center for Seismic Prognostics under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan reported two earthquakes in Kyrgyzstan.
The epicenter hit Batken district, the first occurring at 15:17 at a depth of 5 kilometers and with a magnitude of 2.9. The second is already at 18:11, at a depth of 7 kilometers and with a magnitude of 3.3. Both tremors occurred in almost the same place, at a distance of one kilometer.
The first earthquake was recorded in Uzbekistan’s Sokh exclave with a force of only 2 points at a distance of 21 kilometers.
The second was already recorded in the Sokh and Rishtan districts of the Fergana region, 28 kilometers from the epicenter.
The tremors did not cause any negative consequences.
