The Ministry of Transport has commented on the fatal accident involving a bus and a passenger car

The Ministry of Transport commented on the horrific accident where a bus and a light vehicle killed a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing.

According to the department, the incident occurred on December 9th of this year at 10:20 PM. A 45-year-old Yutong electric bus driver with 15 years of work experience was traveling on bus route 19 along Islam Karimov Street in Mirobod district towards Amir Temur Street.

At an unregulated pedestrian crossing opposite the Central Bank building, he hit a 46-year-old pedestrian. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian fell into the oncoming lane, where he was hit by the driver of a Haval car driven by a 42-year-old driver. The pedestrian died at the scene from his injuries.

Toshshahartransxizmat expresses its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. The documents were processed by the officers of the Investigative Department of the Tashkent City Police Department in the prescribed manner. Currently, a preliminary investigation and investigative actions are underway, — the statement said.

Earlier, it was reported that a criminal case had been initiated under Article 266 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles resulting in human death) of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
