The Chinese man who poured boiling water on the cat was sentenced to five days in prison

On September 18, a Chinese citizen was sentenced to 5 days in prison for cruelty to a cat, Mehr va Oqibat Animal Protection Society’s press service reported.

After the offender’s lawyers filed an appeal. On September 20, it was reviewed by the Tashkent City Criminal Court. The judge rejected the complaint to change the type of punishment to a fine and upheld the decision to arrest the foreign citizen.

Thank you to Dilshodbek Asadullayev, a lawyer from the Animal Protection Society Mehr va Oqibat, who was present at today’s court hearing, and to the complainant who fought to the end for justice. Mehr va Oqibat will ensure the deportation of the citizen, — the message says.

Recall that the incident occurred on the night of September 16. A woman contacted animal rights activists, who spoke about the animal’s cruelty and shared footage of a man first pouring boiling water from a teapot, then from a five-liter bottle onto a cat locked in a plastic box.
