Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the hospital with citizens injured in the gas explosion at a teahouse in Surkhandarya, the presidential press service reports.
The center’s management and doctors informed the president about the patients’ condition and the treatment process. The Head of State visited the wards where citizens with various degrees of injuries are staying, inquired about their well-being, and talked with their family members.
The President instructed responsible officials to take strict control over the provision of all necessary medical assistance to the injured. Expressing condolences to the families of the deceased, he emphasized the need to provide them with material support.
The competent authorities were tasked with thoroughly investigating the causes of the incident, ensuring the rule of law, taking measures to prevent similar incidents in the future, and strengthening control over compliance with fire safety requirements.
Earlier, it was reported that in the Syrdarya region, a gas explosion occurred in a cafe, as a result of which 29 citizens were injured and three died. The Ministry of Health has taken control of the health of each patient.
It should be noted that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the explosion of a gas cylinder in a teahouse in Gulistan: law enforcement officers have initiated a criminal case under Article 257, Part 3 (Violation of labor protection rules resulting in human death) of the Criminal Code. One person was taken into custody in a procedural order.
Recall that in the Syrdarya region, a gas cylinder exploded in a teahouse at one of the markets. At that time, reports of possible deaths were circulating on social media, but the Gulistan Health Department stated that there is currently no such data.
