Seven people lost their lives in a devastating road accident in Angren

The cement truck driver collided with two lorries and five cars.

On 7 September, the Department of Internal Affairs disclosed details of the tragic accident in Angren, where seven people lost their lives.

It was revealed that the accident occurred at approximately 12:20 PM on the 93rd kilometer of the A-373 Tashkent—Osh international highway in Angren, Tashkent region. The driver of a Shacman cement truck, born in 1981, with 15 years of experience, lost control. He collided at the railway crossing with two trucks and five cars.

During the collision, a fire broke out. It was quickly extinguished by special forces and equipment that arrived at the scene. As a result of the incident, 7 people died on the spot, 5 people were hospitalized with various injuries. Also, 4 people received medical assistance and were sent home.

To fully investigate the situation, provide assistance to victims and their families, and legally assess the conditions that led to the severe consequences, a government commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov has been formed, which includes specialists from relevant government bodies. The details of the incident are being investigated, — the report said.

Furthermore, according to the regional Department of Internal Affairs, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 266, Part 3 (Violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules). The perpetrators face up to 10 years in prison. An investigation has begun.
