In the Fergana region, school principals will be reinstated, where teachers were forced to be on duty around the clock, and the order itself belonged to the deputy head of the Department of Public Education, Daryo reports.
The Labor Inspectorate has released the results of an investigation into the situation at School No. 37 in Buvayda district. It turned out that the order for round-the-clock duty was received not by the director of the 37th school, but by the deputy head of the regional UDSHO. The territorial administrations conveyed this task to the district and city departments, and they – to schools and kindergartens.
According to the ministry representative, this appointment does not provide for the presence of teachers at the workplace. At the same time, the department did not specify who was supposed to be on duty in this case.
The Ministry did not receive an order regarding the presence of school teachers at the workplace, — said the Ministry’s press secretary Dilfuza Sobirova.
The school principal was held administratively liable for violating labor legislation requirements. The employer was given a written instruction to pay wages to employees in two stages in accordance with the labor legislation.
In addition, the regional Department of Public Education and Healthcare committed gross violations of the law when dismissing the director. In this regard, the school principal will be reinstated.
The school principal said he didn’t know about the termination of the employment contract. The employer committed a gross violation of the law by terminating the employment contract with the director. The inspection not only protects the labor rights of teachers, but also ensures the reinstatement of the school principal, — said Nilufar Amaniyazova, acting head of the labor inspection.
It was previously reported that the school principal signed an order mandating that teachers be on duty around the clock from December 25 to January 6 (a 13-day period) “to maintain order and peace on the school grounds and ensure the safety and health of the institution’s staff and teachers”.
Later, the director was dismissed in accordance with the DPSE of the region’s order of January 6, 2025. At that time, the department stated that “the director has assigned tasks to the teaching staff that are not part of their official duties”.
