Residents of Tashkent complained about an unpleasant smell at night
Complaints were received from residents of five districts simultaneously.
On 2 September, some residents again complained about the stench in Tashkent on social media. The responsible authorities have yet to comment on the situation.
Based on available information, complaints have been received from residents of Dombrabad, Chilanzar district’s blocks 1, 10, and 12, Yashnabad district, Yunusabad district, Karasu Street, Parkent district, and even Darkhan. Residents report that the odour begins as scheduled — between 22:00 and 00:00 at night — and dissipates by morning.
It’s worth recalling that residents of Kyrgyzstan’s border regions complained about the smell from a garbage dump and a soap factory in the Uchkurgan district of Namangan region. The parties agreed to carry out monitoring of the facilities with the sanitary-epidemiological and environmental laboratories of both countries on-site.
