Officials caught taking bribes in Tashkent and several regions of Uzbekistan
All the perpetrators were detained while receiving the money, and criminal cases have been initiated.

Corruption facts were revealed in Navoi and Surkhandarya regions, as well as in Tashkent, the State Security Service press service reported.
In Navoi region, the head of the Kyzyltepa District Department of Emergency Situations demanded $3,000 for a positive conclusion on the compliance of the shopping complex with fire safety requirements. The official was detained while receiving the money right in his office. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 210, Part 1 (taking a bribe). He was arrested.
In Surkhandarya region, a deputy head of the Jarkurgan District Police Department demanded $600 from a citizen to lift the ban on traveling abroad. He also took 10 million soums for not putting up for auction the land of a cotton and grain-growing farm.
The suspects were detained while receiving money. Material evidence has been seized from them. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168, Part 3, Clause “v” (Fraud). An investigation has begun.
In Tashkent, two lawyers — one from the bar association and the other from the bar association — demanded 14 thousand dollars from a citizen born in 1989 for changing the preventive measure from arrest to house arrest. Both lawyers were detained while receiving the money.
A criminal case has been initiated against them under Article 168 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code, part 3, clauses “a” and “v”, as well as Article 211 (Giving a bribe) of the Criminal Code, part 2, clause “b” through Article 28. The perpetrators were detained, and an investigation was launched.
Recall that in the Andijan region, a deputy khokim was caught taking a bribe. The deputy head of the district promised the entrepreneur a plot of land for 15 thousand dollars.
