More than a hundred children are under medical supervision after being poisoned in Tashkent region’s kindergartens
In two more districts of the region, children are taking turns undergoing medical examinations as a safety measure.

Mass poisoning in Tashkent region’s kindergartens affected four districts: Kuyichirchik, Akkurgan, Pskent, and Buka. The first two, 109 children, are under medical supervision, and two other toddlers are undergoing medical examinations as a precautionary measure, the Ministry of Preschool Education’s press service reports.
On September 25, the Minister of Preschool and School Education, Ezoza Karimova, and Deputy Minister Azizbek Turdiyev visited preschool institutions in the Quyichirchiq, Oqqurg’on, Pskent, and Buka districts to assess the situation.
Together with territorial law enforcement agencies and responsible persons, conditions in kindergartens and dining halls were checked, and conversations were held with kindergarten managers and educators.
Currently, 12 children in the Kuyichirchik district and 97 children in the Akkurgan district are under medical supervision, and the children’s health is stable. Together with the relevant organizations, as a precautionary measure, preschool children in the Pskent and Buka districts are being examined in turn. To date, no cases of serious threat to children’s health have been identified,” the statement said.
The situation is under the control of law enforcement agencies, and investigative actions have been initiated.
Earlier, it was reported that on September 24, food poisoning occurred at doctors’ offices. turned to pupils of state preschool institutions. The children complained of fever, nausea, and diarrhea. Specialists took samples of all food products supplied to preschool institutions. The poisoning may have occurred due to poor quality soured milk with a fat content of 3.2%, which was produced in the Akkurgan district.
On September 25, the Investigative Department of the Regional Department of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under part 1 of Article 257-1 (Violation of sanitary legislation or rules for combating epidemics). Initial investigative actions are being carried out. The perpetrators face up to 5 years in prison. The Children’s Ombudsman will continue to monitor the situation.
