In Uzbekistan, nearly half of applicants failed to achieve the minimum entrance score
The students in the Andijan region exhibited the poorest result.

Almost half of the applicants failed to score more than 56.7 points in the university entrance exams, while the highest score was 189 points.
In 2025, 614,768 applicants passed the test exam. Of these, 253,844 people (41.29%) did not score 56.7 points. The indicator is 30% of the maximum score of 189 points. The poorest results were shown by applicants in the Andijan region — 47.6%.
In the Bukhara region and Tashkent, the results are comparatively better — by 31.4%. In 2023, eight regions, and in 2024, four regions, saw more than half of the applicants failing to meet the minimum threshold. In 2025, such negative indicators have not yet been observed.
The highest improvement in results was demonstrated by:
- Karakalpakstan — plus 9%;
- Navoi region — plus 8.9%;
- Syrdarya region — plus 8.1%;
- Bukhara region — plus 7.8%;
- Kashkadarya region — plus 6%.
At the same time, it was previously reported that Uzbekistan intends to increase opportunities for university admission for applicants who scored insufficient points. The Head of State proposed broadening the number of universities where applicants can apply after sitting the entrance exams.
