In Uzbekistan, English teachers complained about incorrectly written tests
The teachers sent a collective appeal to the head of the MPSE, demanding that the questions be rewritten and retested.

In Uzbekistan, a group of English teachers complained about incorrectly compiled attestation tests. The Ministry of Health commented on the incident.
On October 24, 30, and 31, attestation exams for English language teachers were held across the country. However, during the testing, the teachers found serious problems in the questions. A group of teachers sent an appeal to the head of the preschool educational institution, Ezoza Karimova, where they explained the identified errors and demanded a repeat testing.
The following errors were found in the exam questions:
- the test questions proved to be too complex and in many cases did not correspond to the knowledge and skills necessary for a teacher in daily pedagogical practice and work with students:
- logical and linguistic errors were made in some issues, which cast doubt on the reliability of the final results;
- The test materials do not meet the requirements for validity and reliability, as they were tested not on the teacher’s real professional competencies, but only on a narrow range of academic knowledge;
- in a number of cases, testologists deliberately complicated the questions, causing stress and a sense of injustice among teachers.
As a result, a large number of teachers failed to achieve the required number of points. According to surveys conducted, in some groups, the percentage of those who did not pass the certification exceeds 90%. Meanwhile, the same teachers showed very high results in spring.
In this regard, the teachers asked:
- review the results of the English language assessment conducted on October 24, 30, and 31, 2025, invalidate them, and organize retesting;
- conduct an official examination of test questions and answers;
- to revise the activities of responsible testologists and officials so that such cases are not repeated in the future;
- transform the certification system into a transparent and fair mechanism that will allow teachers to demonstrate their real professional abilities.
The Ministry of Preschool Education responded to the appeal and stated that teachers who are dissatisfied with the results of the certification can leave their objections regarding specific test tasks through the platform during the testing process. Also, within 10 days from the date of publication of the results, you can submit an appeal through your personal account on the platform or in writing.
The Ministry is ready to provide justified explanations for each test question and any objections raised. For this purpose, the telephone line (71) 207-79-79 is also operational. Unfortunately, there are instances of attempts to use the process for personal gain. There are calls to collect funds from teachers who did not score enough points, proposals to pass certification under unjustified conditions, as well as the distribution of individual test questions on social networks in a distorted form. An investigation has begun on these issues, — the statement said.
The department also reminded that teachers have the right to appeal to the court. In addition, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education reported that they are ready to cooperate with the media and openly answer questions. A press conference is planned for the near future.
Earlier, it was reported that foreign language teachers were frightened by dismissal for lack of certificates. The Ministry of Public Education clarified the situation.
