In Uzbekistan, an OCG that sells human organs was discovered

A criminal group engaged in human organ trafficking has been uncovered in Uzbekistan, the State Security Service press service reports.

According to the information, the criminal group operated from 2023 to 2025. It included 12 citizens residing in Tashkent, as well as in Tashkent, Fergana, Bukhara, and Kashkadarya regions. Lawbreakers found patients with kidney and liver diseases through social networks, after which they incited healthy citizens to sell their organs for a small amount.

Through acquaintances abroad, criminals forged documents, pretending to be relatives of patients, and conducted underground operations in private clinics in a neighboring country. During the period of their activities, the offenders managed to transplant 32 patients.

Part of the money received from patients was given by the accomplices to a private clinic where they operated, and the rest was divided among themselves. In addition, if the donor’s condition did not improve after the operation, the offenders sold them potent drugs at inflated prices.

Law enforcement officers detained all members of the group and initiated criminal proceedings against them under Articles 133-1 (Violation of the conditions and (or) procedure for the removal and transplantation of human organs and (or) tissues), 228 (Production of documents, stamps, seals, forms, their forgery, sale or use), 246 (Smuggling), and 273 (Illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, and other actions for the purpose of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances, as well as their illicit trafficking). An investigation is underway.

Earlier, it was reported that law enforcement officers had stopped an attempted human trafficking at the Tashkent airport. Residents of Samarkand attempted to send girls into sexual slavery in India under the guise of employment.
