On January 12, police in Thailand detained a 37-year-old tourist from Uzbekistan accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in a restaurant on the popular resort island of Phuket, Khaosod reports.

Ta Chatchai police officers reported that at 22:35 on Saturday, they were notified that a foreign tourist was harassing a minor at a Golden Cat restaurant in May-Khao, a coastal zone north of Phuket, near the island’s international airport.

The suspect was detained in a restaurant during the incident. Police reported that the restaurant staff and visitors held him until officers arrived. According to the victim’s testimony, around 10:20 PM, she was leaving the restaurant’s bathroom when a man blocked her path, dragged her back inside, and touched her chest. She screamed for help, after which staff and visitors intervened.

The police detained the suspect and took him to the Ta Chatchai detention center for further investigation. He is facing charges related to sexual violence,” the police said.

Recall that an illegal migrant from Uzbekistan was detained in the US. The man was caught by the police after the accident, he had five driver’s licenses.
