In Surkhandarya region, law enforcement officers have initiated a criminal case against a carrier who inflated fares and managed to significantly increase profits, according to the press service of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection.
The department reported that in Termiztransportxizmat buses, the carrier increased the fare from the established 2 thousand soums to 3 thousand soums and only managed to illegally receive 364.5 million soums during the period from May 1 to May 19. As a result, the committee became interested in the company’s activities.
The specialists conducted an inspection, after which a special commission decided to initiate a case against the company, obliging it to recalculate the received funds and return the excessively collected funds.
Earlier, it was reported that the “day schedule” for buses in Samarkand had been canceled. Now carriers will receive payment for the quality of passenger service.
