The incident took place in the Tashkent district. Two police officers were found guilty of corruption. According to the investigation, they handed over a mobile phone to the convict held in the temporary detention facility and arranged a meeting with his acquaintance. The officers received $2,200 for their service. The court sentenced them to up to five years in prison.
As a reminder, a senior investigator from the Angren Department of Internal Affairs’ Investigation Department was caught taking a large bribe. A law enforcement officer demanded $10,000 from a citizen for not prosecuting him. The investigator has been arrested and is facing a 5-year prison sentence.
