In Tashkent region, DXX officers caught the head of the Gulistan District Department for Combating Economic Crimes and the senior operational officer of the Bekabad City Department for bribery.

It was revealed that the detainees promised to assist in the resolution of the criminal case under Article 184 (Evading taxes or fees) against the unofficial head of four companies. Additionally, they promised to recognize the results of desk tax audits conducted by the Syrdarya regional tax department at two companies as illegal.

The inspection revealed that the employees had previously received $108,000 from the unofficial head of these companies for reducing the amount of damage identified as part of a tax audit within the framework of a criminal case. Civil servants were caught red-handed while receiving another $25,000.

A criminal case has been initiated against them under Article 168, Part 4, Clause “a” (Fraud in an especially large amount) and Article 211, Part 3, Clause“a” (Giving a bribe in an especially large amount). The men were arrested. An investigation is underway.
