In Tashkent region, a man attempted to illegally extract Red Book falcons

The perpetrator tied the birds' eyes and feet, wrapped the wings with scotch tape, and sealed them tightly in a narrow bag to hide the smuggling.

In the Tashkent region, customs officers detained citizens attempting to illegally export 8 Red Book falcons, the press service of the SCC reports.

The incident occurred in the Bostanlyk district at the “Aktash” checkpoint. Law enforcement officers monitored the citizen and stopped him while he was crossing the border. After examining his bag in the presence of witnesses, 8 live falcons were found inside.

To hide the transportation, the man tied the birds’ eyes and feet, wrapped the wings with scotch tape, and sealed them tightly in a tight bag. According to specialists from the regional Department of Ecology, these falcons are listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan. Currently, the birds have been transferred to the Tashkent Zoo. An investigation is underway.

As a reminder, a blogger was apprehended in Bukhara for feeding nasvay to the Red Book echelon. The man said that after his actions, he released the animal, and law enforcement officers drew up a report against him.
