In Tashkent, flower rows at the Yunusabad market are being demolished — video
Social media reports indicate that the market is being prepared for closure.

On September 9, information circulated on social networks about the demolition of flower shops in Yunusabad market. Responsible authorities have not yet issued a statement on the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the reconstruction of the “Universam” market in Yunusabad district has commenced. As part of the project, the flower shops were the first to be removed. Witnesses also report that the market will be entirely demolished. The authorities responsible have not yet issued an official statement on this matter.
According to the presidential press service, a three-storey eco-market will be constructed on the site of the Yunusobod dehkan market. An additional shopping centre and a jewellery house will be situated nearby. Underground parking, designed to accommodate more than 1000 cars, is being developed underneath the buildings. The project will create 4-5 thousand new jobs.
The designer from Turkey reported that offices will also be located in the new building. The total area will be 20 thousand square meters. It is planned to open a trampoline center for children. According to the presentation, restaurants will be located on the roof of the complex, and trees and shrubs will grow.
Recall that reconstruction work on part of the territory of the “Yunusabad” market began on May 6, 2025. Previously, there were parking spaces for 180 cars on the territory. During the period of work, about 350 parking spaces have been organized along Ahmad Donish Street, including under the overpass.
