In Tashkent, a verdict was issued against 29-year-old Akmal Shukurov, who hit Boris Avakyan several times at the entrance to the capital’s The Tower Hotel while trying to protect a girl, the Supreme Court’s press service reports.
According to the information, the court found the man guilty under Article 104, Part 2, Clause “e” (Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm due to hooliganism), Article 168, Part 4, Clause “a” (Fraud in an especially large amount), as well as Article 277, Part 3, Clause “g” (Hooliganism related to resistance to a representative of the authorities or public performing duties to protect public order, or other citizens suppressing hooligan behavior), with the application of Article 59 (Sentencing for a combination of several crimes).
As a result, the Mirzo Ulugbek District Criminal Court sentenced him to 8 years and 1 month of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony. It is noted that the parties have the right to appeal the court’s verdict within the established
Immediately after the incident, he started running, and law enforcement officers managed to find him on March 17 in Kazakhstan. He was charged under Articles 277 (Hooliganism) and 104 (Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm). He was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention for attempting to evade the investigation. On March 21, Akmal Shukurov was extradited to Tashkent.
