In Tashkent, a textile factory dumped wastewater into the Bozsu canal — video

At the same time, chemical waste is being dumped into this canal not for the first time.

In Tashkent, a textile factory was dumping wastewater into the Bozsu canal, the press service of “Toshkent shahar suv taminoti” reports.

The department called the incident negligence and the desire to save money by textile enterprises that discharge wastewater into the sewage system without prior treatment.

There are three treatment plants in Tashkent designed to treat wastewater, that is, sewage water coming from the city. These facilities are designed to receive household wastewater — from kitchens, bathrooms, and toilets — and are equipped with biological treatment technologies. At the same time, it is envisaged that the primary cleaning of chemical waste must be carried out by the enterprises themselves, — the message says.

According to established norms, every manufacturing enterprise must have local treatment plants. It is they who must clean the chemical waste generated in production.

Recall that a similar incident occurred in 2022. Then the ecologists arrived at the mobile laboratory and took samples from the wastewater discharged into the canal. During the research, it was revealed that the black color of water is related to colored wastewater that forms during the production process at textile enterprises.
