In Tashkent, a man who assaulted a citizen at The Tower Hotel is being tried under three charges
The defendant's lawyers requested a closed trial to safeguard their personal data.

A man who assaulted a citizen near The Tower Hotel in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent has been charged with three criminal cases, according to the Supreme Court’s press service.
The man is charged with “e” of part 2 of Article 104 (Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm), “a”, “g” of part 3 and “a” of part 4 of Article 168 (Fraud) and “g” of part 3 of Article 277 (Hooliganism). The case will be reviewed by the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Criminal Court.
At the court hearing on September 4, 2025, the defendant’s lawyers filed a motion to conduct the trial in a closed session due to the possibility of disclosing the defendant’s personal and family details during the trial, as well as to ensure the safety of family members, and on the basis of the presumption of innocence.
The petition was satisfied by the presiding judge. Thus, the court hearing will be held in closed session. It is reported that a fair and legal court decision will be made based on the results of the case.
Since the issue is in the focus of the general public’s attention, additional information will be provided to the media at the end of the trial, — the statement said.
Recall that the incident occurred on March 16 near The Tower Hotel in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent. According to eyewitnesses, the conflict escalated when the man tried to block his girlfriend from one of the visitors. A verbal argument broke out between them, during which the troublemaker hit the man on the head, after which he fell and hit his head on the floor.
The man was diagnosed with a craniocerebral injury, skull fracture, brain swelling, cerebral hemorrhage, linear temporal fracture, and parietal fracture. An emergency skull trepanation was performed, after which he was placed in an artificial coma.
