In Tashkent, one person sustained severe injuries due to a pyrotechnic device, resulting in his hand being amputated, the Department of Internal Affairs press service reported.

The incident occurred in the Yangikhayot district, where a 24-year-old man was taken to the hospital with severe injuries after using pyrotechnics at his home. According to the department, the device unexpectedly worked, resulting in injuries to the hands and face.

There were open fragmented fractures of the left forearm bones with damage to blood vessels and nerves, and a crushed and torn wound on the palm. There were burns on the right hand (wrist and palm), as well as on the face. The patient was delivered in a state of severe shock. After a thorough examination, he was urgently taken for surgery.

During the operation, it was revealed that the patient had a complete injury to the palm of their left hand: rupture of blood vessels and nerves, multiple fragmented bone fractures. Taking into account the condition of the soft tissues, a decision was made to amputate the hand.

Currently, the patient’s condition is satisfactory, and the burn injuries are being treated, — said Anvar Ismoilov, a traumatologist at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics.

Recall that in Samarkand, young criminals sold homemade pyrotechnics. Law enforcement officers detained them on the spot, after which they searched their homes and found dozens of other evidence.
