In Surkhandarya region, law enforcement officers detained a man who attempted to smuggle 5 antique coins out of the country, the press secretary of the State Customs Committee reports.
According to the information, law enforcement officers detained a citizen at the “Termez Airport” checkpoint. During the search, specialists found 5 ancient silver coins from him, which the man was trying to take out of the country.
According to the art expertise, the discovered artifacts date back to the 16th century and were minted during the Bukhara Khanate period. Law enforcement officers seized the coins and transferred them to the Termez Archaeological Museum. Currently, the police are conducting an inspection.
Earlier, it was reported that the export of billions of soums abroad was stopped in the Tashkent region. The offender divided the foreign currency among 34 citizens who attempted to smuggle it through customs.
