In Surkhandarya, a schoolgirl was married off despite warnings
The girl's parents were fined, and responsible authorities are monitoring the minor's attendance at school.
In Surkhandarya region, a 15-year-old girl was married off despite an official warning, the press service of the National Social Protection Agency reports.
The incident occurred in the Ozod neighborhood of Denov district. As early as July, mahalla representatives, together with social workers, conducted an investigation into the attempt to marry off a minor schoolgirl. Then the family was officially warned. However, on August 10th, it was revealed that the marriage had taken place.
The prevention inspector applied administrative penalties in accordance with the law, and the perpetrators were fined. Currently, the girl continues her education at a vocational school in the Denov district. Her rights and the educational process are under constant control of the relevant authorities, — the statement said.
Earlier, it was reported that a man strangled his daughter in Namangan for refusing to marry. The father became furious upon hearing his daughter’s confession of having lost her virginity. The mother of the deceased said she forgives her husband for their son’s sake, but said he should face punishment. The forensic medical examination revealed that the girl had not lost her innocence.
