In Samarkand, the illegal trade of a large batch of silver alloy was stopped

Experts discovered that the perpetrators attempted to sell 999-grade metal worth 502 million soums.

In the Samarkand region, law enforcement officers stopped the illegal sale of 18 kg of silver alloy, the press service of the State Security Service of the region reports.

Law enforcement officers detained three residents of Navoi region while attempting to sell 18 kg of silver alloy to a conditional buyer at 11,700 soums per gram for a total amount of 21,000 dollars. The State Testing Inspectorate, after reviewing the seized items, assessed them as 999-grade metal, with a net weight of 16 kg 744 g.

It is noted that the value of silver is 502 million 344 thousand soums. Law enforcement officers initiated a criminal case under Article 177, Part 4, Clause “a” (Illegal acquisition or sale of currency valuables committed on an especially large scale). Law enforcement officers are currently investigating the origin of the precious metal.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan would start supporting jewelers more strongly. Citizens will be paid for reports of violations in the sphere of precious metal circulation.
