On January 5th, a bus carrying passengers was involved in a horrific road accident in Navoiy region, resulting in fatalities, according to the regional traffic police.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:40 a.m. on the 167-168th kilometers of the A-379 Navoi — Uchkuduk international highway, which passes through the territory of Tomdibulok mahalla, Tomdi district. A driver with 17 years of experience driving a ZHONG TONG BUS bus on the Zarafshon — Navoi route with 47 passengers lost control.
As a result, the bus slid to the right while traveling and overturned. As a result of the incident, two passengers died on the spot from their injuries. Nine people with various injuries were hospitalized in medical facilities.
“Currently, the Navoi Regional Department of Internal Affairs is conducting an investigation into all circumstances of the incident to fully clarify the situation, provide assistance to the victims and their families, and give a legal assessment of the conditions and causes that led to the severe consequences, — the statement said.
