In Namangan, a train collided with a car: six people died

The Gentra driver attempted to cross the railway lines ahead of the oncoming train.

On 13 September, at an unguarded crossing between Chortoq and Uychi stations in the Namangan region, a passenger train collided with a Gentra car. There were six people in the vehicle — five women and a small child. All of them died instantly, the press service of “Uzbekistan Railways” reported.

According to initial data, the driver severely breached traffic rules and attempted to cross the roads just ahead of the approaching train. The engineers implemented emergency braking, but the tragedy could not be prevented.

The railway train sustained only minor damage. The company noted that the incident once again highlights the importance of adhering to basic safety regulations and urged drivers to exercise extreme caution at crossings.
