In Kashkadarya region, law enforcement officers detained a nurse while selling a five-year-old child, reports Millar.
The incident occurred in the Koson district. A district polyclinic nurse conspired with the mother of a girl born in 2020 and sold the child for 19.7 million soums. In addition, the woman asked a customer for a bribe of 2 million soums for issuing a new birth certificate. A woman was caught selling her child to another citizen for $15,000.
The court found her guilty and sentenced her to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment with a fine of 30 BCV (12.6 million soums). Her accomplice was sentenced to 3 years of restricted freedom and a fine of the same amount. The girl was placed in the district orphanage.
Recall that in Samarkand, a nurse stole and sold a newborn baby for 6 million soums. The offender stole a baby from a woman who was registered as mentally ill.
