In Karakalpakstan, a passenger train ran into a truck — video

A reserve locomotive was dispatched to the scene, and the heavy truck driver was hospitalized.

A passenger train ran over a truck in Karakalpakstan, the press service of Uzbekistan Railways reported.

The incident occurred on October 6 at 15:31 at the 531st kilometer between the “Turtkul” and “Ellikkala” stations at an unguarded railway crossing. The passenger train was traveling from Kungrad to Andijan, but collided with a KamAZ truck whose driver, ignoring the warning signs, drove into the crossing.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital. There were 216 people on the passenger train, no one was injured. The train could not move further, and a reserve locomotive was sent to the scene, which arrived at 16:15. An investigation has been launched into the incident.

As a reminder, two freight trains derailed in the Tashkent region. No one was injured, however, due to the emergency, several routes were delayed.
