In Jizzakh region, mass poisoning of children occurred in several kindergartens

Dozens of preschool children were hospitalized, and it was revealed that before the incident, they had been consuming biakefir, cottage cheese, and butter in kindergartens.

On October 9, dozens of children in the Jizzakh region were hospitalized with poisoning, the Farig district administration’s press service reported.

From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 37 pupils aged 3 to 7 years applied to the Forish District Hospital. The children complained of fever, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and general weakness. Children were admitted from state preschool educational organizations No. 1, 3, 5, and 7.

It was revealed that on October 8, children consumed biakefir, cottage cheese, and butter in kindergartens. Based on the results of the initial examination, the doctors diagnosed them with “acute diarrhea”, after which they were hospitalized.

According to the regional Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee, the mass poisoning could have occurred due to violations of sanitary rules and regulations during the transportation, storage, and processing of food products. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 205, Part 1 (Abuse of power or official authority). An investigation has begun.
