In Jizzakh, a judge’s assistant was caught taking a $300 bribe
The man promised his acquaintance that he would help him speed up his divorce from his husband and get part of his property.
In Jizzakh region, law enforcement officers detained a judge’s assistant who demanded $300 to expedite divorce proceedings and property division, the State Security Service press service reported.
According to the information, the assistant judge of the Dustlik district inter-district court for civil cases promised to assist the resident of Mirzachul district in accelerating the divorce proceedings, as well as to assist her in obtaining part of the joint property.
The man valued his services at $300. Law enforcement officers detained the man while receiving money from his office. Law enforcement officers initiated criminal proceedings against him under Articles 168 (fraud) and 211 (bribery) and detained him. Currently, investigative actions are underway.
Earlier, it was reported that a hokim’s assistant and two accomplices were caught taking a bribe in Surkhandarya. The men demanded 29 million soums for a 30-year lease on a plot of irrigated land.
