In Fergana, a Damas driver killed a schoolboy at a pedestrian crossing

Law enforcement officers initiated a criminal case and detained the man.

In the Fergana region, a Damas driver killed a 9-year-old child who was crossing the pedestrian crossing, the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported.

According to the information, the incident occurred on the 182nd km of the D-105 highway passing through the Kuva district. A 21-year-old driver of a Damas, who was driving with a power of attorney, hit a 9-year-old child who was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing on his way to school.

The victim was taken to the hospital for first aid, however, despite the doctors’ efforts, the child died. Law enforcement officers initiated a criminal case under Article 266, Part 2 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles resulting in human death) and detained the citizen. Investigative actions are underway.

Earlier, it was reported that a driver who hit eight people at a pedestrian crossing in Samarkand was detained. The man, at high speed, ran through a group of people, including children.
