In Bukhara, a hokim’s assistant demanded a bribe of $6,000 for land registration
Law enforcement officers detained the man and took him into custody.

In the Bukhara region, an assistant was detained for promising $6 thousand for the registration of a plot of land with an area of 7 sotix, the State Security Service press service reports.
The incident occurred on September 10th in the Peshku district. A local resident appealed to law enforcement officers with a statement about extortion and said that the hokim’s assistant, using his official position, demanded money from him for the registration of a plot from the state fund.
The official demanded $6 thousand to register the 7 sotix plot through the K-Savdo automated system so that the entrepreneur could purchase it at auction. Law enforcement officers detained the man while he was receiving money from a mediator.
Law enforcement officers initiated a criminal case against him under Article 210, Part 2, Clause “v” (obtaining a bribe through extortion) and detained the man. The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, it was reported that two deputy governors in Andijan region were detained in a bribery case. Officials demanded 65 million soums from the entrepreneur to “cover” the farm’s export plan.
