In Andijan, law enforcement officers dismantled more than 15 illegal lime kilns

Citizens who had illegally occupied land plots were burning lime without the required permits, causing air pollution.

Law enforcement officers conducted another night raid in the Andijan region, where they found citizens illegally burning lime and polluting the atmosphere, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology reports.

According to the information, the event was held by employees of the regional ecology department after residents complained about unpleasant odor and harmful emissions into the atmosphere. Specialists visited the territory of the Hakan industrial zone in Andijan district, where they found citizens who had illegally occupied land plots. The suspects were engaged in burning lime without proper cadastral documents.

As a result, law enforcement officers removed more than 15 illegally installed lime kilns. Also, law enforcement officers issued warnings to violators about the inadmissibility of repeating such actions, the need to conduct business activities within the framework of the law, and the inadmissibility of harming the environment, and reminded them of strict responsibility for illegal actions. Raids are ongoing.

It should be noted that on November 16 and 17, the air quality in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara dropped to very harmful levels. In some areas of Tashkent, breathing has become dangerous, with pollution levels exceeding WHO recommendations by more than 50 times. Uzhydromet specialists reported that the temperature change also contributed to the increase in indicators. Sharp temperature changes create an inversion process, in which fine particles settle in the atmosphere and their indicators increase.
